Ted Rips Glass Artist

Born into a family of opticians, I have been around glass my entire life. My great uncle was one of the first to fuse two pieces of glass together to create a bifocal lens, and my father started his own lens manufacturing business in 1955 which is still in operation today.

After my retirement from that company, I returned to school and finished with a Masters in History, traveled to some of the most exotic places on earth, and have studied the techniques and methodology of glass art from some of the most amazing artists in the world.

Drawing upon my knowledge of Kilnforming and Kilncasting it is my goal to create a body of work that is uniquely mine.
